A new government-funded survey from the Minnesota Department of Health has found that 90% of patients in Minnesota’s medical cannabis program says it has provided them with relief from their condition, while just 10% saw “little to no change” in their ailment.
Of the 90% of respondents that found relief, a vast majority – 66% – stated that the medicine gives them “significant” improvements in their condition, with 24% finding “mild to moderate” benefits.
The percentage of those that had “significant” benefits was substantially higher in certain conditions; for example, 83% of those with HIV/AIDS rated their medical cannabis use a 7 out of 7 in treating their condition.
Although most patients found relief in medical cannabis, a majority are not happy with the prices. Not one of the polls respondents found the medicine to be “very affordable”, with 55% finding the cost to be “very prohibitive”.
These results are similar to those of a recent Israel survey, which found that over 90% of the nation’s medical cannabis patients find the medicine to be effective at combating things such as nausea, pain and anxiety.
